The U.S. First Lady will be in Asia between 19 and 26 March.
The U.S. First Lady, Michelle Obama will travel to China from 19 to 26 March to highlight the importance of education, and visit several schools in the Asian giant.
The first stop will be Beijing Michelle Obama, between 20 and 23 March, where she will meet with Peng Liyuan, the wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the White House said in a statement.
Later travel to Xi’an on March 24 and finally ending the journey on 25 and 26 March in the city of Chengdu, in southwest China, according to Efe.
U.S. President Barack Obama, will not travel with your family because they will tour Europe and Saudi Arabia in late March.
Also, the First Lady will use the trip to visit centers of cultural and historical interest in China, in order to underline “the importance that students learn from each other on a global level.”
Also accompany her mother.
The mother of the first lady, Marian Robinson, and daughters of the presidential couple, Malia, 15, and Sasha, 12, will accompany Michelle Obama on this tour, which “will emphasize the importance of education in lives of young people of both countries, “the statement said.
It is not the first time Michelle Obama has made a trip of this nature, as it has done similar trips to Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America where he also highlighted the power of education.
Obama and Xi had an informal meeting in June 2013 in California, but the first ladies did not match.
According to AFP indicates Peng Liyuan was a popular singer and actress in China before becoming Army officer and currently is mainly engaged in charitable work.
