The American secretary of state John Kerry called for the money as a symbol of support for the new government acceptance.
Kerry seeks to ease tension
U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry arrived in Kiev to support the new Ukrainian authorities who came to power after the overthrow of President Viktor Yanukovych. One of the first things he did was to announce a financial aid for one billion dollars to Ukraine.
Kerry has asked that this money is accepted as a symbol of support for the new government. Kerry’s visit comes at a time when the U.S. and Brussels make an effort to make Russia withdraw its troops from the Crimea Peninsula.
