Central American immigrants are subjected to harassment in its passage through Mexico on their way to the United States.
In the past four years, the kidnapping of migrants of different nationalities in Mexico increased more than 100 percent, according to information from the attorney specializing in investigation of organized crime (Seido), as well as other areas of the Office of the Attorney General (PGR, Prosecutor’s office).
The operational part of the Secretariat of national defense, Secretary of the Navy and the Federal police intensified during this period particularly in the North of the country, although not detailed the entities where they had been committed over kidnapping of undocumented.
Even in the second report of the Government of Enrique Peña Nieto realized the release of 1,331 migrants in the last 11 months. These people, of different nationalities, were abducted by criminal organizations and among them were some 236 children.
The information was obtained by the Mexican newspaper Millennium from a request for information based on the Federal law of transparency and access to information, the Seido and other dependencies.
