4.4 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes California

A 4.4 magnitude quake struck on Monday north of Los Angeles. No damage or casualties were reported.

Early reports indicated that the quake had a magnitude of 4.7, but the strength of the movement was corrected.

The epicenter of the quake was located about 6 miles north west of the town of Westwood.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed the magnitude of the earthquake at 4.4.

Early reports indicated that the quake occurred at 6:25 am (Los Angeles time). Fire stations have received no reports or complaints of damage from the quake.

The movement occurred at a depth of about 8 miles.
