Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff ratified a bill that ensures privacy in consecrates the Internet and network access at a major conference in Sao Paulo on the future regulation of the network.
The legislation, which was approved Tuesday night by the Senate, imposes constraints on the metadata that can be collected from network users in Brazil. Also exempts Internet service providers from liability for content posted by its users and requires them to comply with court orders to remove offensive material.
