Comcast deserts $45bn Time Warner Cable deal

Comcast Corporation reported early today that its merger concurrence with Time Warner Cable and its exchanges concurrence with Charter Communications, Inc. have been ended.

The accompanying is an announcement from Comcast Chairman and CEO Brian L. Roberts:

“Today, we proceed onward. Obviously, we would have jumped at the chance to convey our awesome items to new urban communities, yet we organized this arrangement so that if the legislature didn’t concur, we could leave.

Comcast NBCUniversal is a remarkable organization with solid force. All through this whole process, our representatives have watched the ball and we have had fabulous working results. I need to say thanks to them and the workers of Time Warner Cable for their vigorous endeavors.

I couldn’t be more pleased with this organization and I am really energized for what’s next.”
