The incident occurred around 11 am and according to authorities appears to be seriously injured.
A Delta Airlines plane overshot the runway on Thursday at LaGuardia Airport in New York, presumably because of a snowstorm that affects much of the northeastern United States.
“Alarm, LaGuardia Airport, clueless aircraft fuel leak,” said Fire Department of New York (FDNY) on his Twitter account without elaborating.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that the incident involved Delta Flight 1086 upon landing.
“Flight 1086 Delta from Atlanta to New York-LaGuardia went off the track 13 this morning during landing. The passengers left the plane through slides and were transferred to the bus terminal,” said the airline on a statement.
In the accident 16 people were injured, authorities confirmed shortly after.
Images on social networks showed off the plane climbed an embankment and horn embedded in a metal fence.
